What is Panopto?
Panopto is the industry-standard video recording software embedded into Canvas for your use. Videos can be recorded, stored, shared, and managed in Panopto.
You MUST record all your video assignments using Panopto.
You cannot record yourself in PowerPoint or other slide show software and submit the link. Your assignment will be considered submitted only when recorded using Panopto.

CAN A PROFESSOR SEE IF I HAVE WATCHED A VIDEO LECTURE?
YES!
Panopto allows TLS (including its professors, staff, and administrators) to precisely track each student’s viewing of video lectures in an online course.
WHAT ARE BEST PRACTICES FOR WATCHING VIDEO LECTURES?
Students should only use Google Chrome as their web browser.
Students should be logged into Canvas and Panopto using TIU credentials.
If a student attempts to watch a video lecture and reaches a screen requesting permission to view the lecture, it means the student is not logged into Panopto.
Assigned video lectures should be watched:
In their entirety.
While seated and able to take notes, i.e., not while driving.
Without distractions.
At the regular speed, i.e., not at 1.5x or 2x.
